Rheum rhabarbarum

Created in 1837 by Joseph Myatt of Deptford, and named after Queen Victoria. Rhubarb is the spring fruit/vegetable that is most often known in desserts but it has many other uses in conventional main meal cooking, especially in the near and far east. Please note that the leaves are not edible.
