You can help

Do you have a special heirloom vegetable variety? A unique vegetable variety that has been handed down through your family? Has a close friend passed on to you a special variety that you just cannot get anywhere else?

Every year, by word of mouth we get sent heirloom seed from all over South Africa. This has allowed us to increase our variety list to a point where we have well over 200 different varieties in our seed bank. This may not be impressive according to international standards, however this is the first heirloom collection that has seed available to the South African public. Fortunately due to the kindness of South African gardeners, our modest collection is growing every day.

If you have an heirloom variety that you would like to add to the Livingseeds collection, please feel free to send us some seed. Please include a description of the vegetable, as well as a history of the plant, so that we can add it to our database. If you would like recognition as the provider of the seed, please let us know. This will allow the South African public at large to have access to a cherished family heirloom, secondly it will ensure that with wide distribution and seed saving, that your family heirloom will not die out and be lost to mankind.

ANY Heirloom or Open Pollinated variety that is not subject to Plant Breeders Rights (PBR) will be most welcome.

Send your seed sample to.
