A cousin of the Aritchokes, that is also known as Artichoke Thistle, Cardone, Cardoni, Carduni, Cardi.
Cardoon requires a long, cool growing season. they are sensitive to frost and need lots of space to grow. A very high maintenance vegetable.
Both the flowers and stem of the Cardoon plant can be eaten.
Cardoon needs a full sun bed that has rich soil and good drainage.
