Right upfront there is a salty, Lovage flavour and them the pungency.

Starts off mild on the tongue and then a sudden rush of heat.

The burn lingers, with a wonderful full, lingering flavour.

There is a definite balance between a sharp burn and creamy flavour.

Delightful, balanced, full bodied.

An absolutely beautiful variety, Chesnok Red is also a superb storing variety. Originally from Southern Georgia (Europe) this is a sublime garlic with an unusual pungency. This gives it a wonderful broad appeal and does not contribute much pungent heat to a dish once cooked, it does however stand out with a great garlic flavour in any dish.

Chesnok Red has been a top contender in terms of awards worldwide, so this is one variety that you would love to have in your garden and your kitchen.

This variety continues to impress us every year, being one of our least difficult to cultivate reliably.

 If you live in a winter rainfall area, we strongly recommend that you use Biogrow Copper Soap on your garlic plants. Spray preventatively for rust every 2-3 weeks with a mixture of 50% of the minimum dose and water.
