Lorelei is a European spinach variety with a rich history which claims that it was grown in the garden of Emperor Charlemagne, a medieval emperor who ruled much of Western Europe from 768 to 814.
The plants spread outwards and produce thick, flat and smooth triangular shaped leaves. Lorelei is a slow bolting variety of spinach.
