Capsicum baccatum

A medium-heat chilli with delectably sweet and fruity flavours when fresh – some say they can detect a hint of mango in its fruitiness. Drying the pods seems to change the flavour somewhat, adding a slight smokiness. The fruits ripen from light green to warm orange. A good all-rounder in the kitchen, especially in sauces and jams, and as a chilli powder.

This bushy plant can grow up to 1.5m tall and requires support to help carry the prolific production of fruit.
