Phaseolus coccineus
A German Heirloom Bean used to make a Traditional German dish , called "Bohnen Salat". The name is translated to "Beetle Bean" and was imported to Europe in the 17th century.
When fresh the beans are Purple/Pink and once dried and cooked they turn cream, tan and brown. Once cooked the beans are creamy and have a chestnutty flavour.
