Solanum melongena
A beautiful bi-coloured Italian Heirloom that produces firm oval fruits with a deep, rich purple and white skin. They are similar in appearance to the better known Rosa Bianca, but with a deeper purple coloring. The flesh is dense with very little seed and has a mild, creamy flavour that holds well, not becoming bitter as it matures.
When harvested young there is no need to peel the tender, mild flavoured skin off.
