A truly unique African heirloom bean. This bean was originally collected by Joseph Simcox at a market in Fort Portal, Uganda. The bean is a traditional dry bean that does double duty as a green bean. My personal opinion is that they excel as a dry been and make an acceptable green bean. One of the benefits of this bean is that they are highly heat, drought and disease resistant. Making them perfect as a homesteading bean for winter storage. These beauties only turn the beautiful jade green in colour when completely dry.

The pods can be used as green beans around 65 days and as dry beans around 110 days.
