Capsicum pubescens
This is a very rare wild chilli collected in the highlands of Indonesia. The plants are tall, growing >1.2m and have an open branched growth habit. In keeping with its family, the beautiful purple flowers are a real joy to behold.
Heat wise, this is hot for a pubescens, and its unique capsacin oils lend to it's exceptional flavour. Nice thick walls with black seeds, a well grown plant will produce 40-50 pods in a season.
This is not a chilli for inexperienced growers. Bottom heat is recommended.
