An ancient herb also known as Tulsi Basil from the Indian continent used for its medicinal properties and health benefits. Most commonly taken as a herbal tea for the treatment of colds and flu, to soothe a sore throat and cough. The spicy, aromatic leaves are often used to add flavour to pasta dishes, stirfries and salads.
Holy Basil is beneficial used in companion planting, being an effective insect repellent.
The plants have a very distinct spicy, peppery aroma and the beautiful pink flowers are abundant early in the season.
