We have had great difficulty sourcing quality parsnip seed. The main problem is that Parsnip seeds have an internal self destruct gun that fires as soon as the seed is dry. It will last 12 months and that is about it.
If you know what parsnip tastes like you are in for a treat, it takes about 9 months for a harvest but it is worth it! Soups and Cornish Pasties are not the same without the addition of a few parsnips. Roasted next to a leg or lamb or a beef roast is possibly one of the best ways to enjoy this unique veggie.
