Capsicum chinense

Originally from Brazil, this Habanero type pepper has a unique colouring, ripening to a lovely peach with purple accents. The purple coloration in the leaves, on the stems and fruit are from the high levels of anthocyanins, which are powerful antioxidants. The more direct sun the plants get, the greater the purple coloration.

The fruits are sweet and juicy with a delicate fruity flavour and a fair amount of heat with a SHU of 100 000.

A highly regarded, prolific chilli in the chilli growing community.
