Wenger’s Red Russian is a Marbled Purple Stripe - an excellent new Red Russian garlic a beautiful well-sized bulb with short plump cloves.

In typical heirloom tradition, Red Russian comes from Heino and Manuela Peters of Roots and Greens Farm in Grindrod in British Columbia. Heino received Russian Red from the archetypal "little old lady" who grew it in the Vernon area of BC for decades prior to passing it along to him.

This is a great hardy garlic variety that can withstand a fair amount of wet soggy soil conditions.

If you live in a winter rainfall area, we strongly recommend that you use Biogrow Copper Soap on your garlic plants. Spray preventatively for rust every 2-3 weeks with a mixture of 50% of the minimum dose and water.
