Hyssopus officinalis

Hyssop, or True Hyssop, is a stunning evergreen herb of the mint family with a long history of both culinary and medicinal use. The edible leaves and flowers can be added to salads, vegetable and fish dishes, or stews. Historically, a strong tea was made to treat throat, lung and gastric ailments; the tea can also be used externally to treat bruises and cuts. The stunning violet blue flowers are wonderful butterfly attractants and also make lovely cut flowers for those extra special flower arrangements.

A perennial that grows to a height of 60-70cm forming a delightful bush.
