Cucurbita moschata

This pumpkin originates from the south of France, also known as the fairytale pumpkin or gourmet specialty. These pumpkins look like big cheese wheels, just flat and ribbed. The immature fruits are a green colour and the mature fruits are a deep brown. Its flesh is deep orange, well flavoured and sweet. Can be used in soups, sauces or baked into yummy goodies.
