Melissa officinalis
Melissa, a.k.a. lemon balm, is an amazing perennial herb that we plant especially for our bees. They just love it! Introduced to Spain by the Moors as far back as the 7th century, its Latin name, Melissa, derives from the Greek word for "honeybee," as it's known for its tendency to attract so many bees.
This herb has a lemony flavour that makes a lovely, refreshing tea and gives fruit salad a zesty pop. It is also known for its medicinal benefits and is used as a calming herb.
