Capsicum pubescens

Another really great pubescens from Ecuador. It's a typical pube, with purple flowers, hairy branches and leaves, and black seeds. This gangly, low-growing plant will produce nice, meaty, thick-walled pods with a sweet heat that is simply hard to beat.

Pubescens chillies have capsaicin oils not found in other peppers. For certain people, it makes these guys really hot, whereas most pepper lovers think that the heat is amusing.

NOTE: Difficult to grow; not a novice pepper.
