Solanum lycopersicum

This tomato variety was graciously given to us by Jill Mettler, the well-known urban gardening Instagrammer @lifecanbeadreamsweetheart.

We found the plants to be robust with dark foliage and exceptionally heavy-bearing. The uniform fruits are a deep, rich red with brown-black shoulders. The name is certainly apt as it exudes tropical notes that complement the rich tomato base flavour.
