Capsicum annuum

This is the pepper used in dried chilli production. The majority of dried chilli powder in South Africa is produced with this pepper. Mild heat with a good flavour profile and excellent drying properties. All of these are important with a pepper that is primarily grown as a dried spice.

The bushes get to about 60cm tall with a terrific pod set, ensuring that with just a few plants you will realise a bountiful harvest.
