Artemisia vulgaris
Mugwort was used back in the day to flavour beer before breweries used hops.
Mugwort has frilly lobed leaves, that are green on the top and what looks to be silver on the underside due to the fine hairs it has on it. The leaves are often mistaken for Chrysanthemum leaves, but when their yellow flowers develop, they are clearly distinguished.Mugwort smells similar to its cousin Wormwood when fresh.
In modern herbalism it is used to stimulate and ease menstration, assist digestion and functunalities of the liver, expel parasites and calm the nervous system. We are not sure how true it is, but there is warning for PREGNANT WOMEN TO STAY CLEAR of Mugwort.
