Carissa macrocarpa
Also known as AmaTungulu. This fast growing, wind resistant and dense thorny shrub is located in coastal bush areas and sand dunes from Humansdorp in the Eastern Cape northwards through Kwa-Zulu Natal and into Mozambique.
The beautifully scented white flowers emerge from spring to mid-summer on the tips of the branches with egg shaped and leathery.
