Capsicum chinense

This beautiful chilli from Peru gets its name from the hanging, pendant/lantern shaped fruit that starts off creamy green, developing a purple tinge and then ripens from orange through to red. This variety makes for a beautiful yet useful ornamental, with fruit of a medium-hot heat and a well rounded flavour. Great container plant.
