Cleome gynandra

Known as Chinsaga, Cat's Whiskers, African Spider Plant, African Cabbage. 

The whole plant above the ground is edible and can be cooked up. Usually eaten as spinach, with a sauce or added to soups. The leaves have a bitter taste and is usually mixed with other leafy vegetables to mask the bitterness.

The edible dainty white flowers sometimes change to pink. They self seed easily.

The leaves are also picked and dried out for use later.
