Carpobrotus edulis
Also known as Cape Fig, Ghaukum, Umgongozi.
This succulent is easy to grow as a groundcover which is water wise and low maintenance.
The plants have edible fruits that look like figs or mini prickly pears. The fruits become yellow when ripe with a meaty, sweet and sticky jelly-like flesh.
