Helianthus annuus
A superb heirloom sunflower that was originally thought to have been introduced to the US via either Canadian or Russian Mennonite farmers. This variety was adopted by the Tarahumara tribe in northern Mexico.
Produces stunning 60 cm wide heads packed full of white seeds that are loved by both bees and birds. The plants can get to a good 3.5m tall and create a stunning wall of flowers.
