Allium cepa

An internationally recognised, early sweet onion that was developed in Texas in the early 1940s. This is the onion that set the standard for many years with good yields and early maturity. Plant in late summer or early spring for the best yields. It is a short day-length variety that will perform very well in the northern half of South Africa.

These extra-early onions have a thin coat and extremely mild flavour. In fact, they are so sweet, they can be eaten like an apple!
