Solanum melongena

One of the great Italian heirlooms. When cooking Italian, this is the variety you should be growing.

The bush produces large, pendulous fruits that can be deeply fluted. The "Rosa" part comes in when the fruits are exposed to direct sunlight. Our plants are tunnel grown, so the rose blush is not that prominent.
