Cucumis melo

An Italian/Spanish Heirloom producer of sweet and delicious, white fleshed melons with a light green blotchy skin.

This melon is quite unique in that the flesh sweetens with time after picking. These are traditionally planted quite late in the season, to be harvested just before the first frosts. They are then stored and allowed to ripen, improving their flavour and sweetness for up to four months providing a delicious, sweet, homegrown treat in the winter months. Now, isn't that something special?
