Phaseolus vulgaris
The Mayflower Bean is the bean that went over to the USA on the Mayflower in 1620, so this is a real historical heirloom. This is one of my favourite pole beans as it's tasty, productive and is a good dual purpose bean. I'm amazed at how productive this little bean is and it well deserves a spot in any garden. The pods are a bit smaller than average, what it lacks in size it makes up for in flavour and quantity.
Standard packet contains approx. 25 seeds
Petite packet contains approx. 10 seeds
Using Beanflo-Rhizobium bacteria when planting your bean seed is the most cost effective way of putting nitrogen fixing bacteria into your soil, creating healthier soil for a more productive harvest.
