Couve Tronchuda is often referred to as a kale or as a leaf cabbage. Although it has many similarities to a kale in its loose leaf growing habit, the flavour and leaf texture is definitely closer to that of a cabbage. It's a beautiful loose leaf picking cabbage, with a very robust flavour. If you have eaten a Portuguese dish called Caldo Verde, then you know all about this cabbage.

The beauty of this loose leaved variety, is that you can harvest over an extended period of time and are not limited to harvesting a single head of cabbage. A very hardy and disease resistant plant. It produces extremely well, and is a beautiful asset in your veggie garden.
