Exceptionally well known European leaf crop, this is probably one of the softest and most tender of all leaf crops. This variety is an old French variety that is well known as a winter salad ingredient. Surprisingly, being a soft tender plant, it is extremely cold resistant and will grow and produce in the coldest of winters.
