Lactuca sativa
A late 18th-century heirloom Romaine-type lettuce from Austria and Southern Germany. Its German name is "Forellenschluss," meaning "speckled like a trout's back."
The beautiful green and crimson-rust-speckled leaves grow upright and tend to hold their sweet taste better than other varieties. Stores very well.
Low heat/bolt resistance.
Ready for harvest around 50+ days.
