Carica quercifolia
(Mountain Papaya, Oak Leafed Papaya, Pawpaw Berry)
LIMITED STOCK!
This is a stout, succulent small tree and is a close relative of the well know pawpaw, or papaya tree.
Mountain Papaya bears small berries leading to it's other common name of Papaya Berry. These are borne in profuse bunches on its branches from early summer all the way through to winter. Berries can be squeezed out of their skins into the mouth, with a few non-offensive, soft seeds they taste just like their larger cousins. The Mountain papaya is cold hardy to -6 Deg C if kept dry over the coldest months. It will benefit from some protection over the first few winters.
These are for the experienced gardener, germination is difficult, however once growing you should have no issues.
