Abelmoschus esculentus
This Texan heirloom is said to have originated from the Texas Hill Country in west-central Texas. The burgundy coloured stalks create a lovely contrast with the stunning pale yellow flowers. The broad pods have a traditional okra flavour and a beautiful array of colours, ranging from light green with maroon streaks on the ribs, with a concentration of red-maroon on the tips of the fruit. Best picked between 5-7cm to ensure firm and tender pods.
Ready for harvest from 55-60 days.
