The yellow scallop is the heirloom version of the tasteless hybrid patty pan that is available at your local supermarket. Most commonly eaten very young, we prefer to grow them out to at least 15 cm in diameter when they are really flavoursome. Bears like the blazes, and 4 plants would probably have you handing out patty pans to anyone that looks vaguely interested.
